Whenever I have alone time in the car you will find me listening to Podcasts. I have a growing list of Podcasts I love, and unfortunately have way more new episodes to listen to than I have time alone in the car.
Engineering Heroes (formerly known as Beer with an Engineer) is just starting its second season. It is a podcast hosted by married Australian couple Dominic (Dom) and Melanie (Mel) De Gioia, whose goal is to meet engineers, understand what they do, and what drives them.
I really credit this podcast with making me love engineering again. Maybe even before I’ve became a stay-at-home mom I started to get disenchanted with being an engineer.
This podcasts tells the stories of the remarkable things that engineers do and how important they are in our society. It makes me believe in engineering. It makes me proud to be an engineer. It makes me want to go back into engineering one day.
Mel and Dom are doing a great job promoting engineers in our society and I highly recommend you check their podcast out (and especially my episode!). You can head to their website to find the latest episodes and/or find it wherever you listen to podcasts.
I know you’re anxiously wondering what my podcast episode is about, so I embedded it and you can listen to it below:
In the episode I share about my journey as an engineer. From why I decided to be an engineer, to discussing one of my first jobs as a plant engineer, to my time as a reservoir engineer, and now my work as a stay-at-home mom and my passion for introducing children to STEAM concepts from an early age. I hope you’ll find my story and interesting and inspiring.
Click here to go to the Engineering Heroes Podcast episode page for my interview, where you can read more about the episode and listen to it there too. Or you can listen to it on all Podcast listening platforms (I use the Podcasts app on my iPhone), by searching for Engineering Heroes, Season 2, Episode 3.
I hope you enjoy the episode and please let me know what you think!
