This activity will work with any white flower you have available: roses, carnations, or daisies all work well. We did this activity for the 4th of July, so we used 3 jars and colored our water red, blue, and left the last jar clear. After a week we had a centerpiece with red, white and blue flowers. You can change the color of food coloring in the jars to match the holiday. It's a perfect STEAM activity for the whole family - kids will love checking on the changes in the flowers daily, and adults will love the colorful and festive centerpiece.
